Pressure Swing Adsorption Oxygen Generator Applications

Welding:
Oxygen, due to its inflammable nature, can help other materials burn more, when it comes in contact with them. When it comes in contact with acetylene, it increases the temperature largely, in room temperature. The heat required for welding, cutting and brazing can be obtained by combustion of fuel gases in conjunction with oxygen, which is essential for all forms of combustion.

Aeration/Odor control
In wastewater treatment, aeration is the process used to dissolve air into water. It enables the growth of aerobic bacteria, which then breakdown the pollutants in the wastewater. Aeration oxidizes the dissolved metals such as iron, hydrogen sulfide, and volatile organic chemicals (VOCs). In the process of aeration, constituents are either removed or modified, before they can interfere with the treatment processes.

O2 (PSA) – Pressure Swing Adsorption
PSA is a process that separates single gases from a gas mixture. PSA is a non-cryogenic air separation process that is commonly used in commercial practice. It is an economic way to separate various gases, achieving high purity levels. In PSA, gases are separated under pressure based on the compounds’ molecular characteristics, and affinity. Medical grade oxygen  (93% +/- 3%) is separated from air using the PSA method.Advantages of PSA method includes: reduces the cylinder cost of oxygen, separates the oxygen with low-pressure instead of high pressure cylinders, cryogenic containers/tanks.
