Dry Ice Applications

Medical industry
In dermatology, Carbon dioxide is used as an alternative to Nitrogen for minor surgeries like mole removal, warts and other skin imperfections. Doctors use dry ice for storing biological samples as they can be kept fresh for a long time. Dry ice is the cost effective solution for specialized storage containers, in case of power outages.

Dry ice blasting
It is the most effective and safe way for cleaning processes. CO2 pellets are used as an impact medium for removing surface contaminants without use of chemicals, abrasive materials, high temperatures or steam. The solid pellets sublime directly after impact leaving no solid residue.

Entertainment
Dry ice can be used for having smokey effects in parties or movies. The right amount of water to dry ice ratio can give the desired, long-lasting smoke effects for parties or movies. Using a fan to control the fog’s direction will help, if you have a small fan with a low setting. Circulating the water regularly ensures long-lasting smoke, whereas stagnating the water for a long time may cause less dissipation of smoke.
